Outdoor Pipe Replacement

Project Overview

The client was experiencing a total failure of an exterior copper pipe, which had severely deteriorated over time. The situation was complicated by two critical factors: the pipe’s leakage had been temporarily, but unsuccessfully, patched with electrical tape, and more importantly, the main stopcock was jammed, preventing the water supply from being isolated for a safe repair. This presented a significant challenge to initiating any work.

Our first crucial step was to successfully unjam and operate the stopcock, allowing us to immediately halt the flow of water and secure the work area. Once that was completed we carefully removed the old, deteriorated section of copper pipe. finally came the pipe replacement, which involved installing new copper piping, precisely cut to the required dimensions. We utilized 90-degree compression joints for maximum stability. To guarantee a lasting seal, we applied PTFE tape to the pipe ends before assembly, ensuring a tight, solid connection across all fittings.

The system was fully restored with a professional-grade, leak-free connection. By unjamming the stopcock, we not only fixed the immediate leak but also restored the homeowner’s ability to safely control their water supply, delivering a complete and reliable long-term plumbing solution.
